The Who announce 2020 US dates

The Who have announced an additional round of 2020 US live dates as part of their Moving On! tour.

The spring series – which will see Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend once again joined by local symphony orchestras when it opens in Hollywood, FL on April 21 – will include a May residency at The Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, NV and, notably, the band’s first appearance in the Cincinnati, OH area since eleven lives were tragically lost as the concert crowd waited to get into The Who’s show there on December 3, 1979.

The historic show was announced by local Cincinnati TV station WCPO Tuesday evening after the media outlet aired a documentary special commemorating the 40th anniversary of the tragedy – “The Who: The Night That Changed Rock.”

Townshend and Daltrey were both interviewed for the special program along with long-time manager Bill Curbishley.

The Who will make a donation from the concert to the P.E.M. Memorial, an organization that was founded to honor friends and classmates that lost their lives at the 1979 concert by providing college scholarships for students at Finneytown High School.

The spring 2020 schedule also features previously-rescheduled shows in Dallas, Houston and Denver.

$1 from each ticket sold for the Moving On! tour will benefit Teen Cancer America.

Presale tickets for Who Fan Club members will begin Wednesday, December 5 at 10 am local time, with general public seats going on sale Friday, December 13 at 10 am local time via the usual outlets.

The Who will release a new, self-titled album on December 6.
