Pearl Jam debut animated video for Gigaton track Retrograde

Pearl Jam are streaming an animated video for “Retrograde”, a track from their latest album, “Gigaton.”

Directed by Josh Wakely, the clip sees a series of climate change disasters taking over the world when the lead character visits a fortune teller, who is eventually revealed to be environmental activist Greta Thunberg.

Pearl Jam recently postponed a spring tour of North America and a summer trek across Europe due to the ongoing global health crisis.

Eddie Vedder performed the “Gigaton” song, “River Cross”, from isolation during an April 18 global broadcast in support of the fight against COVID-19.

The intimate version of the closing track from the Seattle outfit’s latest record was featured on the “One World Together At Home” broadcast event that saw artists performing hits and classic covers from their homes, including The Rolling Stones, Elton John, Stevie Wonder and John Legend, among others, and were featured on a companion album to raise money for the WHO’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.
