The Rolling Stones expand Extra Licks series with 1997 concert footage

The Rolling Stones continued their new, limited-edition weekly streaming concert series, “Extra Licks”, on May 31 with footage from a 1997 performance in Chicago, IL.

The band were filmed at the city’s Soldier Field during the opening two nights of the Bridges To Babylon tour in support of the 1997 album of the same name.

Last year, the Stones issued a full concert from the series on the 2019 “Bridges To Bremen” package.

Footage of the 2.5 hour German concert before 40,000 fans has been meticulously restored from the original masters, and the audio remixed and remastered from the live multitrack recordings.

The 1997/98 tour marked a pair of firsts for the Stones, including the band’s use of a permanent B-stage in the middle of the crowd, and the opportunity for fans to vote via the group's website for a track they wanted to hear at the show in their city.
