AC/DC: Gibson to host Back In Black 40th anniversary virtual celebration




Guitar makers Gibson are hosting a livestream event celebrating the 40th anniversary of AC/DC’s 1980 classic, “Back In Black”, on Friday, July 24.

Hosted by Wisconsin rocker Jared James Nichols, the livestream will feature appearances by Slash, Sebastian Bach, members of Alice In Chains, Cage The Elephant, Anthrax, Trivium, Lamb of God, Refused, Airbourne, GWAR, Cherie Currie, Dave Amato, Orianthi, Sergio Vallin of Mana, Emily Wolfe, Brian Posehn, and many more.

The special event will include AC/DC testimonials, appearances, tutorials and performances.

The AC/DC celebration will be carried live on Friday, July 24 at 5:00 PM ET across the channels of media partner Consequence Of Sound.

Produced by Mutt Lange, “Back In Black” has the distinction of being the best-selling hard rock album in history, with estimated worldwide sales of 50 million.

The iconic band recently began sharing content in honor of the record’s milestone anniversary, including rare, vintage live footage of “You Shook Me All Night Long” and “What Do You Do For Money Honey” from a 1981 concert in Tokyo, Japan.
