Sammy Hagar performs at 37th annual NASCAR All-Star Race

Sammy Hagar performed his 1984 classic, “I Can’t Drive 55”, at the 37th Annual NASCAR All-Star Race at Texas Motor Speedway on June 13.

The rocker was joined by guitarist Vic Johnson for the signature song of the singer’s solo career; the tune reached No. 26 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

“I can drive 155 now,” joked Hagar alongside a group of State Troopers after receiving a police escort at the event.

Hagar And The Circle’s latest release is “Lockdown 2020”, which features a series of isolation performanxces during the pandemic; the set features versions of tunes originally done by AC/DC, Van Halen, David Bowie, The Who and others.

The band are scheduled to return to the stage next month with a July 18 show in Aurora, IL.
