Rock News Story Of The Year No. 4: SAMMY HAGAR

In October, Sammy Hagar and The Circle shared a performance of the 1986 Van Halen classic, “Good Enough”, in a preview of a livestream concert from the Red Rocker’s Birthday Bash shows.

The song was the opening tune on “5150”, Hagar’s debut record with the group following the departure of David Lee Roth; the first of his four records with Van Halen delivered the band their first US No. 1 album after their previous release, “1984”, stalled at No. 2 behind the juggernaut of one of the best-selling albums in music history, Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”

The pre-taped livestream via nugs.net marked the second year in a row that Hagar held the series on California’s Catalina Island due to the pandemic; the singer traditionally hosts the annual series at his club in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
