Ozzy Osbourne to undergo major surgery

Ozzy Osbourne will undergo “a very major operation” on June 13 that Sharon Osbourne says “will determine the rest of his life.”

Sharon revealed the news on the June 8 episode of her London-based TV program, The Talk.

“[Ozzy] has a very major operation on Monday,” explained Sharon, “and I have to be there and it's really going to determine the rest of his life. The next thing is my son is also going to have a daughter in about three weeks, and also it's our 40th wedding anniversary on the first of July.”

Ozzy – who revealed in 2020 that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease – has dealt with a number of health issues in recent years, including pneumonia, a flu that landed him in hospital, and a 2019 fall at his Los Angeles home that aggravated years-old back and shoulder injuries from a 2003 ATV accident and led to neck surgery that added further complications.

"I got a numbness down this arm for the surgery; my legs keep going cold," Ozzy shared on ABC-TV’s Good Morning America in January 2021. "I don't know if that's the Parkinson's or what, you know, but that's — see, that's the problem. Because they cut nerves when they did the surgery. I'd never heard of nerve pain, and it's a weird feeling."

Ozzy has rescheduled UK and European dates on his farewell tour multiple times since his health issues flared up, with shows currently still scheduled for 2023.
