Rush and Queen members to perform at Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert in London

Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson of Rush and Queen's Brian May and Roger Taylor are among the first artists confirmed to perform at The Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert in London’s Wembley Stadium on September 3.

The first of two events to honor the late Foo Fighters drummer will see a number of his peers, friends and music legends unite in celebration of Taylor’s memory and his legacy as a global rock icon, with his bandmates and his inspirations playing the songs that he fell in love with, and the ones he brought to life.

Other artists set to appear include The Police drummer Stewart Copeland, Liam Gallagher, Chrissie Hyde, and Wolfgang Van Halen, as well as Dave Chappelle, and members of Hawkins's covers band Chevy Metal.

More artists for the London event will be announced soon; the second tribute show will take place September 27 at The Kia Forum in Los Angeles.

The Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts will benefit charities in both the UK and the US chosen by the Hawkins family; beneficiaries and further details will be announced shortly.

Tickets will go on sale Friday, June 17 at 9am local time.

Hawkins passed away in his hotel room in Bogota, Colombia on March 25 at the age of 50 while the Foo Fighters were playing a series of shows in South America. See also:
