VIDEO: Judas Priest launch North American tour

It’s been months in the making, but Judas Priest returned to the States this week to kick off the North American portion of their Epitaph world tour.

Priest headlined the triple-threat event Wednesday at San Antonio’s AT&T Center, as they were joined by openers Thin Lizzy and Black Label Society.

The show marks the first of four dates in Texas, as well as America’s in-person introduction to new guitarist Richie Faulkner, who joined Priest following the retirement of K.K. Downing.

The band will play 35 shows on the continent, wrapping up December 3 at the Hard Rock Biloxi Hotel & Casino in Biloxi, MS.

Earlier this year, Priest rocked 30 million viewers as they teamed up with James Durbin on the American Idol season finale.

Without a new studio album to promote, the band has just released “The Chosen Few,” a collection of their tracks selected by fellow rockers including Ozzy Osbourne, Slash, Metallica's James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich, Alice Cooper and Slipknot's Corey Taylor, among others.
