Def Leppard display to be unveiled for Las Vegas residency

The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino will host a memorabilia display dedication with Def Leppard in honor of their upcoming residency, “VIVA Hysteria!”, at The Joint.

Vegas News reports the band will join Paul Davis of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Bobby Reynolds of AEG Live Las Vegas on Thursday, March 21 to unveil a memorabilia exhibit at the main entrance of the property, near valet, featuring the original drum kit Rick Allen used following his near fatal car accident during a street-racing incident on December 31, 1984.

The drum kit was custom designed by Allen so he could continue to play the drums after the loss of his arm. The elaborate display is an important piece of Def Leppard and rock ‘n’ roll history. Three additional exhibits will be available for viewing on property, including a display of the band’s gold records, guitars and costumes.

The unveiling ceremony happens March 21 from 12:30 – 1 p.m. and the public are invited to attend.

Leppard will perform 11 shows at The Joint between March 22 and April 13; they’ll play iconic 1987 album, “Hysteria,” in full, in addition to a greatest hits segment.
