The Who to perform Quadrophenia for UK charity

The Who will perform their classic album “Quadrophenia” in full for charity at Wembley Arena this July.

NME reports the Wembley show will take place on July 8 and will raise funds for Double O, a charity established by the band in 1976 which gives out funds for causes such as relief of drug and alcohol addiction, domestic violence and sexual abuse.

In 2010, the charity trust had disbursed about £4,000,000 since its inception, and has been responsible for the disbursal of a similar amount through Double 'O' Promotions.

The Wembley date comes at the tail end of a full UK and Ireland arena tour during which the band will also perform the 1973 LP in full alongside a selection of their other classics; the trip kicks off in Dublin on June 8 and wraps up in Liverpool on June 30.

The Who recently completed a North American tour featuring “Quadrophenia” as the centerpiece of the show.
