VIDEO: Jack White, Wanda Jackson rock Conan

In stores now is “The Part Ain’t Over,” the new album from the Queen Of Rockabilly, Wanda Jackson.

On the day of its release, the Jack White-produced record saw Jackson and White team up for a performance on Conan O’Brien’s TBS show.

The two also joined Conan to talk about the album, how they connected, and a little bit of Wanda’s history with another star from her early days, Elvis Presley.

The Queen Of Rockabilly, Wanda Jackson, was joined by Jack White as the two rocked the Late Show with David Letterman Thursday night.

The performance was to promote the White-produced new album from Jackson, “The Party Ain’t Over” – set for release on January 25.

It’s Jackson’s first album in five years, and will be issued on White’s Third Man Records out of Nashville.

The Queen Of Rockabilly, Wanda Jackson, is back in the spotlight these days with the help of one Jack White - a White Stripe, a Raconteur, a Dead Weather man, and head of his own Third Man Records.

White produced and played lead on Jackson’s first album in five years – “The Party Ain’t Over” – set for release on January 25.

The two will perform together this Thursday night on the Late Show with David Letterman, as I mentioned yesterday.

I’m guessing they’ll play this song – the first single and video from the album – a cover of Bob Dylan’s “Thunder On The Mountain.”

The video was just released today…featuring some blistering lead guitar from White.

Jack White to join Wanda Jackson on Letterman this Thursday

Jack White is scheduled to join Wanda Jackson for a performance on The Late Show with David Letterman this Thursday night, January 20.

White produced and played lead guitar on Jackson’s new album, “The Party Ain’t Over,” set for release January 25.

Jackson is known as the First Lady (or Queen) of Rockabilly, having mixed country with rockabilly on her records for years; in the late 50s, she became one of America's first major female country and rockabilly singers. Jackson went on to have success with country music in the late 60s and early 70s.

Recalling her early years in music, Jackson told the QMI Agency , “I was fearless. I knew I could sing it just the way Elvis told me I could. My big problem was that I couldn't get airplay. Disc jockeys said we were playing the devil's music and all that. But they finally had to accept Elvis and Jerry Lee and the ones that came after because that's what people were demanding. But they sure weren't going to help a teenage girl with fringe dresses. I had to put a country song on one side of my singles and a rock song on the other, because if I got any airplay at all, it was on the country side.”

In 2009, Jackson was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame as an “Early Influence.”

“The Party Ain’t Over” is Jackson’s first album in five years, as White works to bring her back into the spotlight.

Jackson appeared on Jools Holland’s annual New Year’s Eve Hootenanny special, teaming up with Jools & His Rhythm & Blues Orchestra to play the Little Richard classic, “Rip It Up,” and one of her hits, “Let’s Have A Party.”
