Cheap Trick does Sgt. Pepper’s

This month, Cheap Trick take over Las Vegas for a limited run of “Sgt. Pepper Live.”

The show celebrates one of music’s most influential albums, The Beatles’ “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” ; CT will be rounded out with the Sgt. Pepper Symphony Orchestra.

CT will perform the album in its entirety as well as select songs from their own catalogue that lend themselves to orchestral arrangements.

Geoff Emerick, the renowned engineer of The Beatles’ classic 1967 album, supervises the audio production. CT have a few ties with The Beatles, including working with Emerick and producer George Martin on their 1980 release, “All Shook Up.” Guitarist Rick Neilsen and drummer Bun E. Carlos also recorded three songs with John Lennon for his “Double Fantasy” album; the CT versions were not included on the record and, so far, only one (“I’m Losing You”) has been released.

“Sgt. Pepper Live” opens June 11 at the Paris Las Vegas Theatre; check your local ticket supplier or cheaptrick.com for details.

CT played a series of shows as “Sgt. Pepper Live” last fall in Vegas, releasing a cd and dvd of the event…
