Finalists for the 16th annual hennemusic Rock News Awards are chosen by readers: the Rock News Story Of The Year is determined by page views, while the Rock News Artist Of The Year is based on the combined total page views of the top 50 hennemusic rock news stories of the past twelve months.
The 2025 hennemusic Rock News Awards winners will be announced on Wednesday, December 24.

Rock News Story Of The Year No. 2: METALLICA
Metallica rocked “Master Of Puppets” during a rare, intimate club show on August 28, and the band shared video from the concert.
A promotion for the August 29 launch of the group’s own SiriusXM channel, Maximum Metallica, the event at a tent set up behind the Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, NY (Long Island) was part of a contest that saw fans try to win a ticket to the performance.
