Sammy Hagar, Joe Satriani to perform anthem at San Francisco Giants game

Considering how long Sammy Hagar’s been around, it’s surprising to learn he’s never sung the anthem at a major sporting event.

The Red Rocker gets his chance on April 9 when he – along with fellow Chickenfoot guitarist Joe Satriani – will perform the national anthem at the San Francisco Giants baseball game at AT&T Park.

Sammy told fans all about it in a video message here.

Chickenfoot recently hit the studio to get work done on their sophomore album, due out later this year. Meanwhile, Hagar has been busy doing promotion for his new autobiography, “Red: My Uncensored Life In Rock,” which hit #1 on the New York Times best sellers list.
