Motorhead: Lemmy has 10 songs done for solo album

Motorhead legend Lemmy has been working on a solo album…for the past seven years.

Lemmy tells Billboard that he’s already recorded 10 songs for the project, which will include guest appearances by Dave Grohl, Joan Jett, the Reverend Horton Heat and The Damned.

The metal icon is hoping to finish it soon for possible release in 2012.

"It's good. It goes all kinds of directions," he says. "It's either very inconsistent or very eclectic, depending how you look at it." A title has not yet been determined, though Lemmy cracks that, "Maybe I'll call it 'False Teeth for the Deaf.' "

Motorhead are still out on the road in support of “The World Is Yours,” with a show this weekend in Istanbul, Turkey; after another month of gigs across Europe, the band has a month-long break before their appearance at Rock In Rio on September 25.
