Chickenfoot are now set to go on the road this fall in support of their sophomore disc, “Chickenfoot III.”
The band has announced that Kenny Aronoff (John Mellencamp, John Fogerty, Melissa Etheridge) will be filling in on drums for upcoming live Chickenfoot shows as Chad Smith is back with the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Smith recommended Aronoff to the guys, who jammed with Kenny recently to see if everything would click.
"Kenny can play that's for sure and we all like him,” singer Sammy Hagar told Rolling Stone recently. “He's kind of like Chad – he's kind of crazy and he hits so f**king hard that he beats his drum set to the ground that after every show he needs a new drum set."
Fans may get their first look at Aronoff in Chickenfoot mode as early as September 27, as the band have announced a very special release-day free live webcast event. More details to be announced soon.
