KISS: Gene Simmons marries Shannon Tweed

It happened: Gene Simmons married Shannon Tweed on Saturday in an evening ceremony outside on the crystal lawn at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

People reports the couple exchanged vows they wrote themselves, in front of 400 guests including Hugh Hefner, Bill Maher and fellow KISS members (Paul Stanley was in the wedding party).

Tweed walked down the aisle in an ivory Priscilla of Boston gown – one of three dresses she chose for the big occasion – and carried a bouquet of ivory garden roses.

The couple’s children were a part of the event: Nick was the Best Man and Sophie served as the Maid Of Honor.

The couple's guests cheered when Simmons said "I do" to his partner of 28 years. And their planned first dance was quite fitting: "At Last" by Etta James, performed by their daughter Sophie.

Naturally, Gene has this all worked into a promotion opportunity: the wedding will appear in the new season of his alleged “reality” series later this month.
