VIDEO: Motorhead drummer interviewed at Rock In Rio

Motorhead played the opening weekend of this year’s Rock In Rio 4 festival on September 25.

The band played on a bill headlined by Metallica, alongside Slipknot, Coheed And Cambria, and Brazilian rockers Gloria.

Motorhead have been touring all year in support of their latest album, “The World Is Yours,” and they’re not done…after Rio, the band has shows booked to the end of 2011.

Motorhead drummer Mikkey Dee was interviewed after the Rio show, and shared his thoughts on the performance.

“Well, we never played Rock In Rio,” said Mikkey. “We played Rock In Rio in Madrid and Lisbon, but never in Rio. So, of course, we had pretty big expectations [about the] Brazilian crowd – you know, they’re very unique in the world. You guys in Brazil are very, very good. So, we had high hopes for the show tonight and I think we did alright, you know…no excuses. We did our best and, under the circumstances, we did ok.”
