Guns N’ Roses, Chili Peppers enter Rock Hall Of Fame

Welcome to the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame jungle.

Guns N’ Roses lead the list of 2012 inductees into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.

GNR enter on their first year of eligibility, 25 years after the release of their debut, 1987’s mega-selling “Appetite For Destruction.”

Joining GNR in the Class of 2012 performers category are The Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Beastie Boys, The Small Faces/The Faces, Donovan and Laura Nyro.

Bluesman Freddie King will be inducted in the “early influence” category; Don Kirshner enters under the non-performer Ahmet Ertgun Award; while three producers receive the Award for Musical Excellence: Glyn Johns, Tom Dowd and Cosimo Matassa.

All eyes will be on Cleveland for the 2012 event: the 27th annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on Saturday, April 14, 2012. The ceremony and concert will be recorded by HBO for broadcast in early May.

The question on everyone’s mind is what happens with GNR: can the original lineup pull themselves together for the occasion, be cool with each other...and even perform at the show.

The 2012 event will be open to the public, as it was – for the first time in the event’s history – at the 2009 Inductions in Cleveland.

Tickets to the 2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony go on-sale to the public on Saturday, December 17, 2011 beginning at 10 a.m. EST. To purchase tickets, visit rockhall.com or call (877) 212-8898 (please note, this number will not be activated until 10 a.m. EST on 12/17).

Tickets are expected to sell-out quickly. Individual tickets to the Induction Ceremony are available for $50 and $100. There will be a two ticket limit on all orders.

“CODE WHITE! READY TEAM COCKED PISTOL! MOVING TO DEFCON 1! ”

That’s what I truly believe happened at the Pentagon this morning when the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame announced the induction of Guns N Roses to their roster. Seriously, I truly believe if they put all of the original (well…you know) members of the band into the same ZIP CODE, let alone the same building, there should be a terror alert, because some nuclear level shit could go down. And now the question, in my mind, is not “How good will this be?” – it’s “How f*cked up will this get on television”. I don’t think it’s possible. I think there are lots of members of Guns N Roses who will greatly appreciate the nod, and arrive with due dilligence with the intent of a peaceful evening. Axl Rose, however, is not one of those members. I firmly see Axl showing up with his merry gang of misfits that he “currently” calls Guns N Roses..and a huge fight breaking out…and ruining the whole evening. I mean, he’s just the type of douchebag to do that. I’m sorry….I know the word douchebag is way over-used in this day and age..but dammit, it IS Axl Rose we’re talking about here. I believe he led the nominations on another ballot years ago…being the first musician to be described with that term. I could be wrong. It’s happened before. They could show up, play “Paradise City” like it was 1988, and do it right, be happy, and then hug and reunite for a 400 date stadium tour. Or, as Wayne Campbell said, so eloquently, “sh’yeah…and monkeys might fly out of my butt”.
