Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell was a part of a fundraiser for President Barack Obama Thursday night in San Francisco.
Cornell performed an acoustic set for the event, at the city’s Nob Hill Center, that included covers of Bob Marley’s “Redemption Song,” John Lennon’s “Imagine,” Nick Lowe’s “(What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace, Love And Understanding,” and two Audioslave tracks, “Ground Zero” and “Wide Awake.”
The singer closed his set with a tribute to the late Whitney Houston, who passed away February 11 in Beverly Hills.
Cornell sang “I Will Always Love You,” the song written by Dolly Parton that Houston recorded for “The Bodyguard” soundtrack.
