The Rolling Stones face huge fine for London concert

The Rolling Stones kicked off their "50 & Counting" shows Sunday in London before a packed 02 Arena crowd of 20,000 fans.

The Stones delivered a 2-hour plus set with hits taken from every decade of their career.

Now, UK tabloid The Sun reports the band is facing a large fine for playing past the local curfew.

The Stones were scheduled to end Sunday’s show by 10:30 pm, but they started 30 minutes later than planned and finished the concert at 11:05 pm.

The Sun reports the fine could be as much as £200,000 ($320,000 USD).

"It means a big fine - but the guys just do their thing," said Bernard Doherty, the band's agent. "There wasn't a janitor standing there, jangling his keys, saying, 'I want to go home'."

The Stones will play a second night at the O2 Arena on Thursday, before heading across the Atlantic for three shows: New York’s Barclay Center on December 8, and the Prudential Center in Newark NJ on December 13 and 15.

The final show will be telecast live via pay-per-view at 9pm ET. The pay-per-view entitled “One More Shot” will be distributed by WWE.
