Beady Eye guitarist hospitalized with severe head trauma following accident

Beady Eye guitarist Gem Archer has been hospitalized with severe head trauma following an accident on the evening of August 1st.

“He is currently in a stable condition but continues to stay in hospital under observation,” said the band in a statement. “His family, friends and bandmates thank everyone who have sent messages of support and well wishes so far and hope to see him back on his feet soon.”

"Wanna wish my brother @gemarcherbe a speedy recovery X," tweeted bandmate Andy Bell on Saturday.

Beady Eye have cancelled upcoming shows in Belgium and Japan as a result of Archer’s condition, saying “they are very sorry for any disappointment this will cause but as Gem in an integral part of the band, there is no way that they can play without him.''
