Journey guitarist Neal Schon weds on pay per view

Journey guitarist Neal Schon’s wedding to Real Houseviwes Of D.C.’s Michaele Salahi happened in San Francisco on Sunday, and the event was available live via pay per view.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports the televised "Winter Wonderland Wedding and Music Event" at the Palace of Fine Arts was a splashy holiday spectacular suitable for the scrapbooks.

It had a fairy-tale quality but was also a rock concert wedding, with performances by Journey and Tower of Power.

Among the 356 guests in attendance were Journey bandmates Arnel Pineda and Jonathan Cain, Sammy Hagar, the Grateful Dead's Bob Weir, and R&B singer Brian McKnight.

"This is an amazing, beautiful, over-the-top event," said Hagar. "The ceremony was unbelievable. The minister's rap was the best I ever heard. And on his wedding night, Neal gets to be a musician. Michaele seems to love and embrace that."

A portion of the TV broadcast's proceeds are intended for victims of Typhoon Haiyan, which struck the Philippines in November. Pineda and Schon have already traveled to the Philippines to join other celebrities handing out goods to victims, and the band has pledged $350,000 to relief efforts there. No specifics were available as to what portion of the proceeds will be donated to typhoon relief efforts; the amount will probably depend on the number of viewers.

"Neal & Michaele: The Winter Wonderland Wedding and Music Event" is available on demand online for $14.99 here.
