VIDEO: Foo Fighters play surprise club show in Washington

The Foo Fighters played a surprise show Monday night at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC, and fan-filmed video from the event has surfaced.

The DCist reports the evening was billed as birthday bash for Trouble Funk's legendary band leader Big Tony.

The night began with The Don't Need Its, a lineup that saw Dave Grohl reunite with former Scream bandmate Pete Stahl and joined by Bad Brains' Dr. Know and Darryl Jenifer to rip through a raucous 40-minute set of Bad Brains classics.

Trouble Funk
’s birthday bash set for Big Tony followed, and then Grohl led the Foo Fighters on stage for a 2-hour, 20-song set spanning music from the band’s full catalog.

The Foo Fighters are currently working on a new album, the follow-up to 2011’s “Wasting Light.”
