John Mellencamp previews new live album

John Mellencamp is sharing a performance of “Small Town” as a preview to his forthcoming live album, “John Mellencamp Performs Trouble No More Live At Town Hall.”

Due July 8, the rocker was recorded in concert at New York’s Town Hall in 2003, about a month after the release of his 18th album, “Trouble No More.” Mellencamp performed the album in its entirety at the show, and selections from the concert have been pulled together for the live package.

The project features a mixture of music from the 2003 release plus some stripped down versions of Mellencamp classics like “Paper In Fire” and “Pink Houses.”

The Indiana rocker recently signed an unprecedented lifetime recording contract with Republic Records.

His new album, “Plain Spoken”, will be issued this fall as the first project under the new deal.
