Guns N' Roses: Axl Rose responds to internet death hoax

Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose has responded to an internet death hoax to confirm that he is still alive.

“If I'm dead do I still have to pay taxes?” tweeted the singer.

A fake news story regarding Rose’s death mimicked the appearance of a real MSNBC report, complete with the headline "Sources: Guns N' Roses Frontman Axl Rose Found Dead in West Hollywood Home at Age 52."

The hoax report claimed Rose was found dead Tuesday afternoon in his West Hollywood home.

The same website posted a similar story regarding actor Macauley Caulkin last fall.

Rose also tweeted a ghostly image from a recording studio – without further comment.

Rumors continue to swirl that Guns N’ Roses are working on new material for the follow-up to 2008’s “Chinese Democracy.”
