Scott Weiland announces new album and tour

Scott Weiland And The Wildabouts will release their debut album, “Blaster”, on March 31.

The 12-track album was produced by Rick Parker (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club) and recorded at Weiland's Lavish Studios and the Sandbox in Los Angeles.

"The album has its own distinctive sound," says Weiland, "but it also can entice those Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver fans who have stuck by me."

"Over the years, I've gone back and forth between art records and being in a band. This is a hybrid. What we've come up with is really heavy, slinky, and sexy. There's a lot of fuzz. The best way to describe it is 'furry.'"

Joining Weiland in The Wildabouts are guitarist Jeremy Brown, bassist Tommy Black and drummer Danny Thompson.

The band will kick off their 2015 tour on February 22 in Scottsdale, AZ – tickets go on sale Friday, January 9.

Weiland was fired by Stone Temple Pilots in February of 2013, leading to a series of public statements and lawsuits by both parties.
