Ozzy Osbourne cancels Ozzfiesta due to upcoming surgery

Ozzy Osbourne has cancelled Ozzfiesta, a 5-day event scheduled for this May in Mexico’s Mayan Riviera, due to an upcoming surgery.

Organizers revealed the news in a released statement, saying “Cool Breeze Concerts regret to inform you that Ozzfiesta is cancelled.

“Like you, we were very excited about the event. However, Ozzy is having surgery, scheduled for May, following his South American tour. He requires at least four weeks of recovery time. We are very disappointed that we need to cancel.

“We will be offering refunds which will be processed in the next 4-6 weeks. If you decide that you would still enjoy an all inclusive vacation at the Hard Rock, Riviera Maya, Mexico please send us an email, and we can make the arrangements.

“We apologize for any inconvenience and hope that you understand the circumstances surrounding the cancellation.”

Offiesta was scheduled to run May 27-31 at the Hard Rock Hotel on the Mayan Riviera, with guests including Zakk Wylde, Black Label Society, comedians Jim Norton and Jim Florentine, and events including a Charity Golf Tournament benefitting The Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Program, Osbourne Movie Nights, a dinner party hosted by Sharon Osbourne, and more.

At press time, there has been no official statement issued by Osbourne’s office regarding the cancellation or details regarding the nature of the surgery.

Next month, Ozzy plays a series of 4 Monsters Of Rock shows in South America – three in Brazil and one in Argentina.

Earlier this week, the rocker announced two shows in Mexico with Black Label Society in August: at the Arena Monterrey on August 18 followed by a Mexico City Arena show on August 20.
