VIDEO: Neil Young premieres new song Wolf Moon

Neil Young is premiering a video for “Wolf Moon”, a track from his forthcoming album, “The Monsanto Years.”

Due June 29 (June 30 in North America), the project sees Young team with Promise Of The Real, featuring Willie Nelson’s sons Lukas and Micah Nelson.

“Earth is not ours. We are of the Earth. That's how I feel,” says Young. “When we plunder our own home we hurt our children and their children after them. I feel responsible. I like to say thank you for the precious gift we have, so when the Wolf Moon rose, I said thank you with this little song.”

The singer has been vocal in recent years about his opposition to Monsanto, a chemical company specializing in genetically modified seeds.

Last November, Young urged a boycott of Starbucks when they partnered with Monsanto in a lawsuit against the state of Vermont in an attempt to block a landmark law that requires genetically-modified ingredients be labeled on food packaging.

Young and Promise Of The Real will launch the “Rebel Content” tour on July 5 at Summerfest in Milwaukee.

“The Monsanto Years” marks Young’s third album in the past year, following “A Letter Home” and “Storytone.”
