Van Halen cancel Hershey show due to illness

Van Halen have cancelled their August 23 appearance at Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, PA.

The band released the following statement: “Due to David Lee Roth suffering from the flu and the doctor recommending he rest his throat, Van Halen's concert tonight (8/23) at Hersheypark Stadium has been cancelled. Refunds will be available at point of purchase.”

“To all the fans, we are SO sorry,” tweeted bassist Wolfgang Van Halen. “This is such a huge bummer. We were really looking forward to this show… I wish this wasn’t the situation.”

The Hershey date is part of Van Halen’s summer tour of North America in support of their latest release, “Tokyo Dome Live In Concert.”

The group’s next scheduled performance is Tuesday, August 25 at Darien Lake Performing Arts Center in Darien Center, NY.
