Bruce Springsteen offers free downloads from 1980 concert tour

Bruce Springsteen is celebrating the holiday season by offering fans an hour of previously unreleased live music from his 1980 tour in support of “The River.”

Mixed by Bob Clearmountain, 10 songs from Springsteen’s November 5, 1980 show at Arizona State University in Tempe that were recorded but not filmed are now available at live.brucepsringsteen.net

Free MP3s are available for a limited time and high-res and CD-Quality downloads are on sale now along with a single CD which will ship next month.

Video from the concert is included in “The Ties That Bind: The River Collection”, a newly-issued 7-disc box set marking the 35th anniversary of the release.

The New Jersey rocker recently promoted the package with appearances on The Tonight Show and Saturday Night Live.

Springsteen and the E Street Band will perform the double-album in its entirety during a nine-week North American tour that begins January 16 in Pittsburgh, PA.
