Steven Tyler films Super Bowl ad for Skittles

Steven Tyler will appear in a commercial for Skittles during next month’s Super Bowl broadcast.

Adweek reports the Aerosmith frontman promotes the candy in its second year advertising in the most-viewed televised broadcast of the year, which delivered a record 114.4 million viewers in 2015.

Created by advertising agency DDB Chicago, 2016 will mark the second time Skittles has appeared in the Big Game following last year's event.

It's also the first time the Wrigley brand has featured a celebrity in a TV ads and the candy company created "a custom, one-of-a-kind Skittles covered microphone for Steven" as a thanks for his efforts.

Tyler will debut a new song, “Red White And You”, later this month.

It will be the second single from the singer’s debut solo album following the 2015 release of “Love Is Your Name” last spring.

The full album is expected sometime this year.

Next month, Tyler will be featured on the PBS series Front And Center with a stripped-down performance of solo tunes and Aerosmith classics.
