Glenn Hughes reschedules US tour after double knee replacement

Bassist/vocalist Glenn Hughes has been forced to reschedule his upcoming US tour due to delays in his recovery from last month’s dual knee replacement surgery.

Originally set to begin on March 2 in San Jose, CA, the US run will now start on August 9 in Annapolis, MD. All rickets remain valid for the rescheduled dates.

“I am sorry to say that some recent setbacks in my recovery from knee operations are the reason that I can’t get out to see everyone as soon as I had hoped,” says Hughes. “I want to make sure I give my fans the best live experience possible and promise it will be worth the wait. I can’t wait to see everyone at the shows.”

The tour will see Hughes perform highlights from his extensive career, including music from Trapeze, Deep Purple, Black Country Communion, California Breed and solo material.

Hughes will be on hand for his induction into the 2016 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame alongside members of Deep Purple this spring.

The April 8 ceremony at New York’s Barclays Center will honor most of the group’s first three lineups, including Hughes, Ian Paice, Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Jon Lord, Ritchie Blackmore, Rod Evans and David Coverdale.

Deep Purple will enter the Rock Hall alongside fellow inductees Cheap Trick, Steve Miller, Chicago and N.W.A.
