Stone Temple Pilots prepare to begin new singer auditions

Stone Temple Pilots are gearing up to begin in-person auditions this month for a new singer after completing their recent online submission process for the gig.

The trio of guitarist Dean DeLeo, bassist Robert DeLeo and drummer Eric Kretz are looking to fill the slot vacated last fall by Chester Bennington as he struggled to juggle his work with STP alongside his Linkin Park and personal obligations.

“Hi everyone,” posted the band. “We wanted to once again thank all of those who took the time to submit. Thank you kindly. Those of you that put forth your top 3 candidates and singer suggestions was a great help as well. Thank you for that.

“With MANY hours clocked in behind the computer, the 3 of us have chosen and are auditioning some very talented people. Auditions will start on April 18th.

“We are thrilled to get in a room with each of these very talented individuals," adds the group. “Let the good times roll.”

Stone Temple Pilots reunited with Bennington last month for a one-off performance at From Classic To Rock, a charity concert to benefit public schools in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.
