Megadeth announce US tour

Megadeth have announced dates for a fall US tour in support of their current release, “Dystopia.”

Set to begin in Casper, WY on September 20, the 4-week run will see the thrash legends joined by Amon Amarth, Suicidal Tendencies, Metal Church and Havok.

The trek marks the second leg of North America shows this year following a series of dates this past spring.

Pre-sale tickets for Megadeth Cyber Army club members will begin on Tuesday, July 19 at 10 a.m. local time at ‪Cyberarmy.megadeth.com.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday, July 22.

The band’s 15th album, “Dystopia” was produced by Dave Mustaine and Chris Rakestraw and recorded in Nashville, TN last year.

The project debuted at No. 3 on the US Billboard 200 with opening week sales of 49,000 equivalent album units, marking the group’s highest-charting US album in almost 25 years.

This past weekend, Megadeth cancelled a pair of European dates after bassist David Ellefson broke his foot backstage before a festival show in Hungary on July 15.

The band were to perform at the Harley Days festival in Prov, Slovakia on July 16, and a Masters Of Rock event in Vizovice, Czech Republic on July 17.

It remains unknown at this time how, or if, Ellefson’s injury will affect future shows.

Megadeth are scheduled to begin a Latin American tour in Quito, Ecuador on July 30.
