Black Sabbath classic featured on WWE 2K17 soundtrack

Black Sabbath’s 1970 classic, “Paranoid”, is among the tunes featured on the soundtrack to the forthcoming video game WWE 2K17.

Curated by hip-hop artist Sean Combs, the soundtrack will feature 13 songs from established and emerging artists that span multiple music genres, including hip-hop, indie and alternative rock, heavy metal and electronic dance.

“I am a huge WWE fan,” says Combs. “I love the intensity and the competition and I wanted fans to feel that energy in the soundtrack for WWE 2K17. While prepping for the upcoming Bad Boy 20-Year Family Reunion Tour, I’ve been thinking a lot about the past and the artists that inspired me. I mixed some of my favorites with some of the best new acts in the game today to create something really special.”

“Paranoid” was the title track to Black Sabbath’s second album, which topped the UK charts while peaking at No. 12 on the US Billboard 200 and earning quadruple platinum status for sales of more than 4 million copies in the States alone.

In addition to Black Sabbath, the set includes music by Bring Me The Horizon, Travis Barker and Yelawolf, Twenty One Pilots and more.

WWE 2K17 will debut on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 systems, Xbox One and Xbox 360 on October 11.

Consumers who pre-order WWE 2K17 will receive two playable Bill Goldberg characters, as well as playable WCW Monday Nitro and Halloween Havoc arenas, at no extra cost on launch day.

Black Sabbath will launch the final series of North American shows on their farewell tour at Nikon at Jones Beach Theater in New York on August 17 before playing concerts in Latin America late in the year; they’ll begin a final 8-date UK/Ireland run early next year that will wrap up with a pair of shows in their hometown of Birmingham, UK.
