Guns N’ Roses top 2017 worldwide tours list

Guns N’ Roses have the highest-grossing worldwide tour in 2017, according to a mid-year report by live industry magazine Pollstar.

The reunited trio of Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan’s Not In This Lifetime tour tops the list at No. 1 with an industry-leading $151.5 million gross from January 1 to June 30.

The group performed runs across Asia and Europe during the eligibility period, ahead of their return to North America for summer shows starting in St. Louis, MO on July 27.

Guns N’ Roses were also the only concert act to sell more than 1 million tickets this year.

U2’s 30th anniversary Joshua Tree trek lands at No. 2 at $118.1 million, followed by Justin Bieber at No. 3 ($93.2 million) and Metallica at No. 4 ($88 million), with Depeche Mode rounding out the Top 5 at $68.2 million.

Guns N’ Roses also scored the largest individual box office gross to date in 2017, with two shows at London’s Stadium last month earning $17.3 million.

U2’s stadium stops in Pasadena, CA, East Rutherford, NJ and Chicago, IL held down the next three spots, while Lollapalooza Brazil came in at No. 5.

The Irish rockers snagged the top grossing North American tour at $118.1 million, with Metallica at No. 2 ($68.7 million), followed by the Red Hot Chili Peppers (No. 3 at $60.5 million), Eric Church (No. 4 with $54.5 million) and Garth Brooks at No. 5 ($48 million).
