Eric Clapton releases Christmas In My Hometown video

Eric Clapton is streaming a performance video for his version of the 1966 Sonny James classic, “Christmas In My Hometown”, from his recently-released collection, “Happy Xmas.”

Originally featured on James’ holiday album, “My Christmas Dream”, the song is one of a collection of covers presented on Clapton’s first full-length seasonal record.

The guitarist co-produced “Happy Xmas” with Simon Climie; the set – which also includes the original Clapton composition, “For Love On Christmas Day” – recently debuted at No. 1 on the US Holiday Album chart.

The 2017 Clapton documentary, “Life In 12 Bars”, has been nominated for a Grammy Award at the upcoming annual event in Los Angeles next February.

Directed by Oscar-winner Lili Fini Zanuck (Rush, Driving Miss Daisy), the project takes an unflinching and deeply personal look into the life of legendary bluesman while following his career through The Yardbirds, Cream, Blind Faith, Derek And The Dominos, and his solo years.

“Life In 12 Bars” is a finalist in the Best Music Film category at the 2019 music industry awards, where it will compete against projects about Whitney Houston (“Whitney”), Quincy Jones (“Quincy”), Itzhak Perlman (“Itzhak”) and Elvis Presley (“The King”).

The 61st annual Grammy Awards will be broadcast live on the CBS-TV Network from the Staples Centre in Los Angeles, CA on Sunday, February 10 at 8pm ET.
