New AC/DC album update

Twisted Sister rocker Dee Snider shared some insight into the forthcoming new album by AC/DC during a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation.

"I had dinner with [AC/DC singer] Brian [Johnson] recently, and we talked about [the band's return to activity],” Snider tells Eddie Trunk. “He told me a lot of stuff, and a lot of stuff that I don't wanna say. But we know from the photos, and Brian confirmed it, they've been in the studio, they've been recording.

“The original – I don't say the 'original' guys, because a lot of 'em are gone, but I say the 'classic' lineup is back together and there are some surprises, which I can't talk about, regarding Malcolm Young that just had my jaw on the floor. I will say he will be present.

“So this is AC/DC as we know and love them.”

Snider’s appearance on the radio show was to promote a Change.org petition to have AC/DC perform at next year's Super Bowl.

The latest speculation about AC/DC’s plans follows reports last spring and summer that the group were preparing to announce a new album and record with Johnson – who was spotted alongside other band members at a Vancouver recording studio in the summer of 2018 – while longtime AC/DC engineer Mike Fraser confirmed that the band had been in the studio working on a project, without providing further context or details.

There has been no statement from AC/DC regarding their status or plans to date, as fans and media continue to wait for an official update from the band.
