Santana cancels European tour due to coronavirus

Santana have cancelled their upcoming European tour over concerns of the spreading coronavirus.

The spring series was scheduled to begin at the Unipol Arena in Bologna, Italy on March 14, but that show – and a March 15 date in Zurich, Switzerland – were recently cancelled before the decision to shut down the full tour was announced.

“We regret to announce that due to public health concerns and European travel and performance restrictions, Carlos Santana is cancelling the European tour dates of his upcoming Miraculous 2020 World Tour,” says President of Universal Tone Management Michael Vrionis. “It is with great disappointment that I have to inform our fans that we are cancelling our upcoming Europe Tour. Many countries have made the decision to restrict public gatherings in excess of 1,000 people to curb the potential spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19). While we deeply regret this unfortunate circumstance, the safety of our fans is the main priority for the Santana Organization.

“We will keep you all informed of new performance dates as they are made, and will make every effort to return to Europe soon. Thank you all very much for your understanding.”

Refunds for the shows are available through point of purchase.

Santana will resume performing in May when they continue their residency at the House Of Blues Las Vegas, following which they’ll head out on a North American tour with Earth, Wind & Fire.
