Rock News Artist of The Year No. 6 – THE EAGLES

As the live music industry shut down due to the pandemic, The Eagles – like many others – were forced to rearrange their plans.

In March, the band announced rescheduled dates for their “Hotel California” US tour, moving shows from the spring to the fall before shifting them to 2021.

Guitarist Joe Walsh found a way to keep busy while still entertaining others: he launched a weekly Saturday evening program on Los Angeles public radio station KCSN and KSBR 88.5 after being a longtime listener himself.

The Eagles turned heads in July when they gave sports network ESPN the broadcast premiere of the concert film, “Live From The Forum MMXVIII”, a package that captured the group in concert over three sold-out shows last September while delivering the first band recordings with Vince Gill and Deacon Frey, who joined the touring lineup in 2017 following the 2016 passing of co-founder Glenn Frey.

The project – which included new live versions of classics like “Lyin’ Eyes”, “Hotel California” and “Take It Easy” – would see its release in the fall.
