Rock News Artist of The Year No. 5 – PINK FLOYD

As 2021 came to a close, Nick Mason and his band, Saucerful Of Secrets, postponed an early 2022 North American tour while Pink Floyd continued to promote the February reissue of their 1995 concert film, “Pulse.”

In March, Roger Waters expanded his This Is Not A Drill North American tour while continuing to promote his connection to his former band’s brand.

April saw Pink Floyd release their first new original music that they have recorded together as a band since 1994’s “The Division Bell” when they issued a charity single, “Hey Hey Rise Up”, in support of the people of Ukraine; the song featured a vocal performance by Andriy Khlyvnyuk of Ukrainian band Boombox.

Ahead of the launch of his North American tour, Waters performed on CBS-TV’s The Late Show with Stephen Colbert; the following month, Pink Floyd detailed a reissue of their 1977 album, “Animals”, that saw the project’s first visit to the US Top 40 in 45 years.

Last month, Waters shared a new 2022 version of the iconic Pink Floyd track, “Comfortably Numb”, which he’s been performing on his latest tour.
