U2 frontman Bono expands Beacon Theatre residency

U2 frontman Bono has expanded his upcoming residency at New York’s Beacon Theatre with the addition of three new dates.

The “Stories of Surrender” series sees Bono recount tales from his 2022 memoir, “Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story,” which sees the rocker writing for the first time about his remarkable life and those he has shared it with – from his early days growing up in Dublin to today.

Surrender’s subtitle is a nod to the book’s forty chapters, which are each named after a U2 song and accompanied by forty original drawings by the singer, which appear throughout the book.

Following an initial tour last fall to launch the book, Bono recently announced an 8-night spring residency at The Beacon, with shows starting April 16; the series now adds appearances on May 4, 7 and 8, with tickets going on sale starting Monday, January 9 at 10am local time.

Bono will once again be joined by musicians Gemma Doherty (Harp, Keyboard, Vocals) and Kate Ellis (Cello, Keyboard, Vocals), as well as Musical Director Jacknife Lee for an evening of "words, music and some mischief..."
