“It centers around a 4/4-time signature, but with a polyrhythm on top,” explains Wolfgang. “I was teaching my fiancé what a polyrhythm is, and I stumbled upon this idea. The kick drums are accentuating it. It’s certainly one of my favorites and a completely different vibe than anything on the first album.”
“Like A Pastime” follows the lead single, “Another Celebration At The End Of The World”, as the second track issued from the 2023 record; the follow-up to the Van Halen prodigy’s 2021 self-titled debut once again sees the rocker recording all the instruments and vocals with producer Michael Baskette for the brand’s first album as part of a new deal with BMG.
Mammoth WVH is currently on the road in Europe where they are mixing headline shows with a series of select dates opening for Metallica.
