The purpose of the visit was to announce the Crue’s status as the first hard rock band to sign a short-term residency in Las Vegas; they’ll play a series of shows at the Hard Rock Hotel from February 3-19, 2012.
"We're the first hard rock band ever to have a residency [in Las Vegas],” said Vince. “There's been bands like Santana and Elton John and these kinds of acts, but for us… Motley Crue, we're all about theater and about over-the-top stage show, so it's a perfect fit for us. So we're really, really excited."
The pre-taped Vegas announcement actually aired on Thursday’s show, after the host made fans wait the full hour before playing the news at the tail-end of the program, following a painful 55-minutes of nonsense about Herman Cain’s status as a Presidential candidate (Saturday he announced he’s quitting the race, btw.)
The Crue talked with their giddy-as-a-schoolgirl-to-be-around-rock-stars host about many facets of their 30-year career, including their infamous days as the hardiest partiers on the rock circuit.
