For one night only, Velvet Revolver put aside their differences to reunite for a benefit show.
"Love You Madly: A Concert For John O'Brien" at West Hollywood, California's House of Blues was put together as a tribute to composer and music supervisor O'Brien, who was found dead in a Chicago hotel room on August 20 at age 45; the event was also a fundraiser for his family.
The evening marked the first time the band performed together since singer Scott Weiland departed in 2008 for a return to Stone Temple Pilots.
VR played a four-song set — including a cover version of the Pink Floyd classic "Wish You Were Here.”
The band's setlist was as follows:
01. Sucker Train Blues
02. She Builds Quick Machines
03. Slither
04. Wish You Were Here (Pink Floyd cover)
“Those of u who could come down to the HOB tonight & support the cause did a wonderful thing. The O'Briens thank u for your help,” posted Slash “If u couldn't be there, its all good, we know u were there in spirit!”
