Green Day rocked a surprise club show in Los Angeles on Monday night.
The Los Angeles Times reports that over the course of two adrenaline-soaked hours, bouncers pulled sweaty, overwhelmed fans -- many heat-exhausted from waiting in a thick queue and seeing a big band in a small space -- out of the crowd.
As the Bay Area-born punk band rolled through its catalog of bangers and delivered nine new songs from its forthcoming trio of studio albums, the heat both onstage and off peaked.
There were nine new songs to deliver, and within them was more than enough energy to offer sustenance where ever in the world it was needed. The best of these was the new single from “Uno”: “Kill the DJ,” a gigantic dance rock song that name-checks New York City.
The Echoplex hold 700, so a limited number of lucky fans were able to attend the gig.
