Jimmy Page remastering Led Zeppelin catalog

Led Zeppelin manager Peter Mensch has told the U.K.'s Sunday Times that guitarist Jimmy Page is holed up in a west London studio "remastering every Led Zeppelin LP."

It is believed that the new remasters, which are tentatively due next year, will possibly include alternate takes and unreleased material as well.

Page recently told Mojo magazine that there are plans to release each Zeppelin studio album as a box set with additional material from each LP. In addition, it was revealed in an article in The Australian that artist Shepard Fairley has been tapped to re-design the artwork for the upcoming reissues.

Many media outlets have recently reported – and continue to report - that Jimmy is also working on new music, which may be released by the end of the year. Unfortunately, these reports are based on a June 2010 interview Page did with BBC 6, so fans should be aware that the information is two years out of date. Read the original story at BBC 6 here.

All systems remain go for Led Zeppelin to release their concert film, “Celebration Day,” on November 19.

The project will be available in multiple video and audio formats:

* Standard Editions – 1-DVD/2-CD set and 1-Blu-ray/2-CD set
* Deluxe Editions – 2-DVD/2-CD set and 1-Blu-ray/1-DVD/2-CD set featuring exclusive bonus video content including the Shepperton rehearsals, and BBC news footage.
