Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath farewell concert available for streaming

The farewell performances by Ozzy Osbourne and a reunited Black Sabbath in their hometown of Birmingham, UK are sold-out, but fans worldwide will now be able to watch the event via newly-announced pay-per-view streaming access.

Billed as “Back To The Beginning”, the July 5 event – which sold out in under 16 minutes – will see Osbourne play his own short set before being joined for the first time in 20 years by Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward when they take the stage at Villa Park.

With a lineup that reads like a hall of fame roll call, Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Tool, Slayer, Pantera and more, “Back To The Beginning” isn’t just a concert. It’s a global celebration of metal, culminating in a final, thunderous farewell to the genre’s godfather.

“We had such an overwhelming demand from fans from around the globe, who couldn’t get tickets to the show,” says Sharon Osbourne, “and they took to social media, pleading with us to broadcast a livestream of the show. Being this is such a historic event, we just couldn’t let them down.”

For fans who’ve followed Ozzy’s 50-year reign, the global livestream offers a front row seat to a once-in-a-lifetime goodbye. They’ll have access to the raw livestream from 3 PM on July 5, and will also have exclusive access to rewatch the concert in its entirety for another 48 hours.

Livestream tickets are available today, Friday, June 6, at backtothebeginning.com.

The night before the farewell concert, Birmingham is hosting the world premiere cinema screening of “The Nine Lives Of Ozzy Osbourne” documentary.

Directed by R. Greg Johnston, the 2020 film – which traces Ozzy’s life from his childhood in Birmingham through the rise of Black Sabbath and his ensuing success as a solo artist – will see it’s official cinema debut at the city’s Millennium Point on July 4.

People will have two opportunities to see the film on the day, at either 16:00 or 18:30 BST, with all profits donated to charity.

At the end of the evening, special guest Jack Osbourne – Ozzy’s son – will be appearing live for a Q&A with those attending the later screening.

Proceeds from the premiere and concert event will go to the Cure Parkinson’s, Acorns Children’s Hospice and Birmingham Children’s Hospital charities.
